Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Official Disclosure: Hello World!
Tons of announcements and disclosure at the SharePoint Conference 2009 this morning during Steve Ballmer’s and Jeff Teper’s keynote. It’s super exciting to have Project Server 2010 built on top of SharePoint Server 2010 and be able to leverage all its new and enhanced capabilities!
Some quick highlights (more to come :)):
- Public Beta will be available in November, yes that includes SharePoint Server, SharePoint Foundation, all Office 2010 desktop applications and Project Professional 2010 and Project Server 2010 (sign up here for Public Beta notification).
- RTM is still scheduled for the first half of 2010
- PowerPivot for Excel 2010 (a great way to mine your rich Project Server data)
- SharePoint 2010 Beta Resources (TechNet)
- SharePoint 2010 (Beta) Developer Center (MSDN)
- Visual Studio 2010 Beta 2 is available for download for MSDN subscribers
- SharePoint 2010 Resources
- Tons of content (videos, etc…) are on the SharePoint 2010 site: https://sharepoint2010.microsoft.com/Pages/default.aspx
