Now that's what I call customer service
[No Office/Dev content in this post, so look away now if you are not interested]
On my way back from Seattle I was caught up in the chaos at Heathrow last weekend. Strike action caused all British Airways flights to be cancelled for around 36hrs, including mine into London. By the time I heard about it every other routing back to the UK was full so there was no alternative but to sit things out and hope flights would resume the next day.
Victoria and Michelle at AMEX did a great job of sorting out hotel and new flight bookings for me and I was lucky enough to the first direct flight back to London the following night.
Imagine my surprise today when I receive an email from BA giving me enough air miles to get a return flight to the USA as compensation for my troubles. The thing is, the strike wasn’t even BA’s problem, they were caught in the middle of someone else’s dispute as much as I was. So way to go BA, that’s what I call customer service.
