Forest schema version 47: Windows Server 2008 R2 Adprep /forestprep
When you run adprep /forestprep, you are updating the Active Directory schema forest version. Several people have asked, what is the forest schema version for Windows Server 2008 R2. - If you run adprep /forestprep for Windows Server 2008 R2, confirm that the objectVersion attribute value is set to 47
- If you run adprep /forestprep for Windows Server 2008, confirm that the objectVersion attribute value is set to 44

Does SP1 for Windows Server 2008 R2 change the schema version? I noticed that the schema version does increase when going from non-R2 to R2 in both WIndows Server 2003 and 2008. Thanks.Anonymous

The objectVersion attribute will display <not set> on any DC other than the schema FSMO role holder in ADUC and/or ADSI Editor...Anonymous
