Audio APO - Verify APOs Work After an OS Upgrade - TestUpgrade
Third Party APO Test: TestUpgrade
Test Description
APOs are expected to remain stable between Operating System (OS) upgrades without causing crashes, hangs, or critical errors during the process. This has been put in place to prevent blue screen of death issues, Windows Update hang issues, and loss-of-audio issues post-upgrade issues.
This test will ensure that your APO can survive OS upgrade. Upon completion of OS upgrade, your APO will be tested for basic audio functionality. To run this test, you will need to download an ISO file corresponding to the OS you intend to target. Once this ISO is downloaded, you will need to extract the contents into the C:\HLK\ISO\
directory. This test will use an ISO file from C:\HLK\ISO\
to perform validation.
Note
For best results, it is recommended that partners upgrade to a build identical or greater than the currently installed build on the machine.
Instructions
- Download intended target Operating System ISO file. For best results, it is recommended to upgrade to the same OS that the machine is already running or any build past that. Do not use an ISO that is a lower build than what the machine already has installed.
- Extract the downloaded ISO file's contents into the directory
C:\HLK\ISO\
for use in the test. - Once extraction is complete, run the HLK test.
