Standard features
Important
The modern print platform is Windows' preferred means of communicating with printers. We recommend that you use Microsoft's IPP inbox class driver, along with Print Support Apps (PSA), to customize the print experience in Windows 10 and 11 for printer device development.
For more information, see Modern print platform and the Print support app design guide.
Standard features are printer features commonly provided by most printers. They're identified by predefined names that the GPD language recognizes. Resource identifiers for strings that represent these names are contained in stdnames.gpd, which is supplied with the Microsoft Windows Driver Kit (WDK). Some standard features are required and must be specified for every printer. Others are optional.
The following table lists all of the standard features, in alphabetical order, and indicates whether each feature accepts standard options or customized options. The features that include a Print Schema keyword are GPD features that are automatically mapped to Print Schema keywords. You can also map GPD features to Print Schema keywords manually by using the PrintSchemaKeywordMap attribute.
