NdisAllocateGenericObject rule (ndis)

The NdisAllocateGenericObject rule specifies that NdisAllocateGenericObject and NdisFreeGenericObject are called in alternate order. The ultimate goal is to make sure all generic objects are freed when MiniportHaltEx ends.

The rule uses three different states. The state changes when an NDIS generic object is allocated or freed. If an NDIS generic object is still allocated when the MiniportHaltEx exits, the rule will fail.

Driver model: NDIS

How to test

At compile time

Run Static Driver Verifier and specify the NdisAllocateGenericObject rule.

Use the following steps to run an analysis of your code:
  1. Prepare your code (use role type declarations).
  2. Run Static Driver Verifier.
  3. View and analyze the results.
