When you create a sales order for an assemble-to-order item, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central automatically creates an assembly order for the item. The assembly order contains components that must be picked in the warehouse. When you register the warehouse pick, Business Central updates the warehouse shipment form, where you can schedule the assembled items for shipment to the customer.

Before you can process assembly orders in the warehouse, you need to configure the assembly bins on the location card.
