New Features

  • Access instance variables are now supported as input/output variables in desktop flows, accommodating the respective variable types when passing information from one desktop flow to another.

  • The actions ‘If virtual desktop available’ and ‘Wait for virtual desktop’ have now been introduced, so that users can check for remote desktop availability in the context of their desktop flows.

Enhancements & Improvements

  • The Microsoft Dataverse connector now supports the option ‘(Current)’ in the Environment parameter of its operations in desktop flows, permitting its dynamic resolution based on the environment used.

  • A new category has been added to the troubleshooter application, helping users diagnose potential sign-in issues.

  • Some minor backend and UI improvements have taken place in actions that include custom data grids for their inputs’ configuration.

  • The status of pop-up messages in SAP can now be captured properly through SAP actions.

  • When describing a task with Copilot, the error message displayed to the user when their prompt is insufficient to produce a response has now been improved.

  • When using Copilot to ask a question, the error message displayed to the user when the response is null has now been improved.

  • Some improvements have taken place around Java automation and the corresponding Java accessibility file.

  • In the ‘Run Access query’ action, the ‘Data type’ query parameter now comes with a default value.

Repaired Functionality

The following list details issues in Power Automate for desktop that are now resolved:

  • In Power Fx flows, the ‘DatabaseName’ property of Access instance variables no longer offers additional properties, to avoid the respective validation errors.

  • The Copilot banner in the console now behaves as a tab control rather than a toggle one.

  • While recording with Copilot, the screen selection border is now properly visible in dark mode.

  • The Copilot recorder is now responding as expected, when the timer reaches the 5-minute limit.

  • Null media type exceptions are now properly handled, when using the Copilot recorder.

  • The error message shown, when flow loading fails due to duplicate binaries, has now been improved to offer proper clarity.

  • A URI format exception that could occur during flow loading in an environment has now been resolved.

  • An issue affecting the order of input parameters in certain actions has now been resolved.

  • A contrast issue with Power Fx functions in input controls when using dark mode is now resolved.

  • An issue with certain characters not being clearly visible in conditional expressions of Power Fx flows when using dark mode is now resolved.

  • Various accessibility issues involving text contrast and missing properties have been resolved.

  • An issue with missing endpoint details in the troubleshooter application, when there is an error in the cloud runtime connectivity category, is now resolved.

  • An issue with the flow status not being updated in the console, after saving a flow as a new flow twice in a row, is now resolved.

  • An issue with searching flows slowing down, when multiple results match the name searched, is now resolved.

  • An exception occurring when trying to stop a flow in the Preparing state using a keyboard shortcut is now resolved.

  • An exception occurring when trying to delete a flow from a managed solution is now properly handled.

  • A null reference exception that occurs when a user launches the designer from the portal, without having sufficient permissions on that environment, is now resolved.

  • The ‘Wait’ action now properly supports values with leading zeros.

  • An issue related to dynamic invocation errors in connector operations of desktop flows is now resolved.

  • Boolean input parameters that are required in cloud connector operations are now properly handled.

  • In Power Fx flows, variable names are now properly updated in action summaries when they are renamed.

  • An issue in handling errors when accessing out-of-bounds elements in list expressions is now resolved.

  • An issue occurring when trying to stop a flow from the console, when it has invoked a child flow in parallel or in sequence, has now been resolved.

  • An issue occurring when trying to stop a flow from the monitoring window, when it has invoked a child flow in parallel, has now been resolved.

  • The issue with the parallel child flow runs not appearing properly in the portal logs, as the child flow run info was missing, has now been resolved.

  • Using a null instance input variable in a flow now throws an error with clearer error details.

  • The proper error message is now shown, when trying to run the same flow in parallel and in sequence through two consecutive ‘Run desktop flow’ actions.

  • An exception potentially thrown during the initialization of the recorder is now resolved.

  • An issue with the web recorder not recording the click of a button that navigates to a new tab has now been resolved.

  • Some accessibility issues related to keyboard navigation and screen reader support in the Copilot repair window have now been resolved.

  • When reading data from Access tables, unsupported data types are now handled more gracefully.

  • A performance issue with UI elements always creating a new parent element when captured, rather than using the cached parent, has now been fixed.

  • An exception that sometimes occurred when using the ‘Wait for window content’ action, causing it to fail, has now been handled.
