Mac OS for a Windows guy

Unlike many other Windows users, I did not miss the right mouse button and still don’t miss it. The Ctrl key or the two-finger-on-the-trackpad-and-click-trick does it for me.

The MacBook comes with a bunch of softwar pre-installed and the test versions of Microsoft Office including Entourage as Outlook replacement do it for now.

After turning the laptop on for the first time, I downloaded a few 100 MB of updates to various apps and the OS itself. https://www.apple.com/getamac/ has cool videos but they’re kinda misleading. This video pretends the Mac OS works out of the box and Windows requires tons of updates. They both do.

BTW, I also wonder if the PC (guy) on the left is the father of the Mac (guy) on the right. Since the PC (guy) is doing all the real world work with spreadsheets etc, he must be paying for the fun the Mac (guy) has with the MacBook his father (aka. The PC guy) bought him.

Using Google? Certainly. I "grew up" using Google to find information on the Internet. But Live Search (www.live.com) or however it is currently called is picking up quickly and I use it more and more. I also find the UI is getting better and better. Not to mention the results; they've gotten way better over the past months.

Well, difference between the updates. The maximum amount of times the Mac OS will ask you to reboot is twice when going from any 10.x.y version to any other 10.x.y version (where x is the same, if they are different then it's three for the upgrade for the major version).

Windows on the other hand, has you reboot for every little update and some updates cannot be installed without others even though windows update shows them all. Very annoying. Especially on slow connections.

In a recent post I mentioned the new Apple Mac ads. Thanks to Scoble I found some ads on YouTube that...
