Terminal Services Client overview

The Terminal Services Client is a thin client that delivers the 32-bit functionality of Microsoft® Windows Server™ 2003 family operating systems to a wide range of desktop hardware devices. The client appears as a window within the local desktop environment. It contains only the minimum amount of software necessary to establish a connection to the server and present the user interface. All other operating system functions, as well as applications, run on the server. The client can be run on a range of desktop hardware:

• Computers running Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows ME, Microsoft Windows NT 4.0, Microsoft Windows 2000 or Microsoft Windows Server 2003 operating systems.

• Windows-based Terminal devices (embedded).
