Windows Media (Windows CE 5.0)
DirectShow provides the foundation for multimedia support in Windows CE. A Windows Media application either has the Window Media Player control embedded within it or communicates through COM with the DirectShow Filter Graph Manager interfaces (sometimes directly with the filters themselves). In either case, DirectShow manages the flow of data from the source to the hardware. Understanding the complete playback system for Windows Media involves understanding the Windows Media Player control, Microsoft® Windows Media® technologies, and DirectShow.
