TUI User Interface Tips and Tricks (Windows CE 5.0)

Send Feedback

Consider the following tip when using the TUI application:

  • The TUI application is designed so that a user doesn't need to manage navigation between screens using things like a Back button, and so the user doesn't need to remember "state" and answer questions like "how do I get from where I am back to another screen?"

Instead, users interact in a direct and forward manner. For example, regardless of the current state or screen, to view contacts, users choose Directory and then Outlook Contacts.

A side effect of this design is that most screens do not include Cancel buttons. Therefore, to cancel the current action, show another screen.

For example, you can cancel the viewing of your speed dial list by pressing the key to display the Home screen, by viewing your contacts, and so on.
