Core Connectivity (Windows CE 5.0)

Windows CE supports a unified communications infrastructure called Core Connectivity that enables full-featured connectivity for downloading and debugging. The Core Connectivity infrastructure offers a full range of connectivity support, including:

  • Flashing a run-time image on a target device
  • Downloading an application or a collection of files to a target device
  • Launching an application on the target device
  • Connectivity streams between a target device and a desktop workstation that can be used by any application, such as Remote Tools and Visual Studio
  • Kernel-level connectivity streams between a target device and a desktop workstation that can be used by applications such as Platform Builder
  • Custom services that support the needs of varied OEMs
