Running the CPU Monitor Tool (Windows CE 5.0)
You can run the CPU Monitor tool by itself or you can run the tool from the Microsoft Windows CE Test Kit (CETK) window. Prior to running the CPU Monitor tool, you must install the Microsoft .NET Framework on the development workstation. You can download the .NET Framework from Microsoft Windows Update or from MSDN, the Microsoft developer program website.
Note You cannot connect the CPU Monitor tool to more than one target device at a time.
To run the CPU Monitor tool from the CETK window
Add support for the CETK to the Windows CE operating system (OS) for the target device.
For information about adding support for the CETK to your Windows CE OS, see CETK Setup.
Connect the target device to the CETK.
For information about connecting a target device to the CETK, see Configuring the CETK to Communicate with a Target Device.
In the CETK window, right-click on the target device from which you want to view CPU and memory usage information, choose Tools, and then choose CPU Monitor.
To run the CPU Monitor tool by itself
- In <Platform Builder installation path>\Cepb\Wcetk\Ddtk\<CPU>, copy the Cetkperf.exe file to the release directory for your Windows CE OS.
- In <Platform Builder installation path>\Cepb\Wcetk\Ddtk\Desktop, run CPUMon.exe.
- Run the Cetkperf.exe application with the syntax
Cetkperf <name of development workstation>
.
When you run the CPU Monitor tool, the tool automatically collects and displays data from the target device. For information about stopping and starting the collection of data, see Controlling Data Collection with the CPU Monitor Tool.
