Internet Explorer Browser Control Host Registry Settings (Windows CE 5.0)

Send Feedback

The browser can be configured to play a sound file while the user is navigating between Web pages. To enable this functionality on an audio-enabled device, you must specify the sound file in the device registry.

To specify the sound file in the registry

  1. Add the following registry setting to the ie.reg file located in the %_WINCEROOT%\PBWorkspaces\<OS Design Name>\RelDir\<Hardware Platform_Configuration> folder to create the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\Explorer\Navigating\.current key and set the Default value string to the full path of the sound file stored on the device.

;Audio cue while navigating between pages
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\Explorer\Navigating\.current]
    @="\\Windows\\start.wav"

Note   For information about modifying the registry programmatically, see Registry Fundamentals.

  2. Save the registry file and rebuild the run-time image.
