(MEX) Define tax registration numbers for a bank account

Use the Bank account details form to link a Registro Federal de Contribuyentes (RFC) number to a bank branch and bank account. The RFC number is a unique code that is assigned to legal entities and legal persons, and is printed in the tax declaration report.

The format of the RFC number is as follows: For corporations, the 12-character number consists of three characters that represent the business name, followed by six characters that represent the date of registration (YYMMDD), and three characters assigned at random by the government. The 13-character RFC for individuals contains four characters that represent the person’s name, followed by six characters that represent the person’s date of birth (YYMMDD), and three characters assigned at random.

  1. Click Cash and bank management > Common > Bank accounts.

  2. Click Bank account to open the Bank accounts form.

  3. Press CTRL+N to create a new bank account.

  4. In the Bank account field, enter the unique bank account number.

  5. In the Currency field, select the transaction currency for the bank.

  6. Click the Setup FastTab, and in the RFC number field, enter the RFC number.

  7. Close the form to save your changes.
