Working with Metadata in Commerce Foundation
The Microsoft Multi-Channel Commerce Foundation metadata may be specific to a sales channel or may be common across multiple channels. To simplify application lifecycle management, channel-specific metadata inherits from site-specific metadata, which then inherits from the Commerce Server global installation defaults.
