The Windows Client Certificate Enrollment Protocol defines the following interfaces for the server role.

ICertRequestD

Defines methods that enable a client to request certificates from a certificate authority.

ICertRequestD2

Inherits and extends the ICertRequestD interface.

The return value for each method in these two interfaces is a signed 32-bit value per the definition of HRESULT, as specified in [MS-ERREF]. If the method returns a negative value, the method has failed.

Many of the DCOM methods defined in this section are made available for non-protocol functions, such as diagnostics.
