ServiceProxy<TService>.AuthenticateCrossRealmCore Method

Definition

Authenticates a user in a realm other than the realm that the Microsoft Dynamics 365 server is located in.

protected:
 virtual Microsoft::Xrm::Sdk::Client::SecurityTokenResponse ^ AuthenticateCrossRealmCore();
protected virtual Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.Client.SecurityTokenResponse AuthenticateCrossRealmCore ();
abstract member AuthenticateCrossRealmCore : unit -> Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.Client.SecurityTokenResponse
override this.AuthenticateCrossRealmCore : unit -> Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.Client.SecurityTokenResponse
Protected Overridable Function AuthenticateCrossRealmCore () As SecurityTokenResponse

Returns

A security token response.

Remarks

This method will attempt to authenticate the home realm, then use the corresponding security token to authenticate to the Microsoft Dynamics 365 realm STS (Security Token Service). In addition to the normal client credential requirements, the homeRealmUri constructor parameter is expected to be set in the call to the constructor.

The returned SecurityTokenResponse should be the security token that can be used to authenticate against the Microsoft Dynamics 365 server realm STS.

This method may be overridden in the case that home realm authentication requires multiple hops, which is not supported by this call.

ServiceConfigurationand HomeRealmUri must be set prior to calling this method.
