Configure App Management Service
Overview:
App Management Service is responsible to manage licenses and permissions of SharePoint apps
Licenses of apps downloaded from Marketplace are stored in this application
This application has its own database
Every time a page/API within an app is hit SharePoint verifies that the user making the request is entitled to use the app
Every time an App makes attempts to access a resource in SharePoint it needs to verify that the app has sufficient permissions to do so
Exception while Publishing Workflow:
App Management service exception might occur while publishing workflow in SharePoint designer.
How to configure App Management Service:
Setp 1:
In the Central Administration of SharePoint, access the ‘Manage Service Application’ area
Check if you have service application created, if not then create one. If service is created and its proxy is not created then you need configure its proxy.
If service is not created then under New, select ‘App Management Service’
While creating the service you must create proxy service application as well:
Step 2:
Once the service application is created, you need to start the app management service. Go to ‘Manager Services on Server’ area:
Start the ‘App Management Service’ by clicking ‘Start’ link
