Video: Why we localize software for Norwegian Nynorsk
Norwegian is not just Norwegian. There's two of them: Norwegian Bokmål (literally: "book language") is used in writing in 85-90% of Norway, but Norwegian Nynorsk ("New Norwegian") has equal status as a written language.
Why is it important to have software in Norwegian Nynorsk?
Check this video from the Microsoft Local Language Program to learn how this contributes to preserving the language.
We localize both variants for Windows and Office. Windows 7 in Nynorsk released a couple of months ago and can be downloaded for free to run on top of a Norwegian Bokmål installation. It is also available for Vista and Office 2007.
And they key Norwegian Nynorsk terminology is available for download or online search from the Microsoft Language Portal.
