The Internet for Nobel Peace Prize. Hmm
Wired Italy has nominated The Internet for the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize. Whilst I think it’s a noble idea and well meaning, I can’t help thinking it’d take away the prize from a deserving individual. Sure, the Internet has changed the world and our lives irrevocably but it sort of feels against the spirit of the prize. Sort of like nominating the “pen” because it was used to sign peace treaties.
Great PR for Wired as The Internet hardly needs any PR but I’m not sold.

Take it away from a deserving individual? Right. Based on what the committee did last year I'd say The Internet is massively overqualified for the award. But why not make a joke of the thing two years in a row...Anonymous
