Device stage again

I’ve been a longtime fan of device stage in Windows 7 but I wish more companies took advantage of it. It’s a pleasant surprise when devices do such as the way SonyEricsson has for the U8i phone above. Thanks to Sarah Zenz for the heads up.

The devices and printers UI seems to have more of a following but I was still surprised to see my new Sony voice recorder show up as below when I inserted it. Here’s hoping more hardware companies follow suit as it really does show an attention to detail that helps customers. For those who are not computer savvy, stuff like this could save a support call. For those that are computer savvu, stuff like this leads to blog posts like this one. A small price to pay?
