IBM and Microsoft joining forces...!

So yesterday I had the distinct pleassure of spending 15 hours with the IBM Deep Computing team at one of their UK Bootcamps.....now I know some of you may be thinking that it is a weird combination to have MS and IBM talking to their partners together - some people in MS did ask me if 15 hours in IBM meant that I:

A) Could not find the exit after having popped in asking them for directions

B) Got stuck in interview hell..

Happily neither of the above are true and it was an absolutely great day - the IBM team are absolutely razor focussed and genuinely nice people - no strange DNA strings or multiple heads I can assure you! (:)) The key for us all is that Windows CCS represents a tremendous opportunity for channel partners to drive truly incremental sales. Now these are businesses that today are 100% Linux focussed - however we find that their businesses stifle in certain areas where really simple UI based tools with a Windows based architecture could drive the partner and SI solutions into new areas hence increasing overall market share and revenue for the partners concerned.

Together IBM and Microsoft look forward to driving our software and their hardware together into the market! - Bring it on!
