Popfly is growing up... Now everyone can mashup and mashout!

Technorati Tags: Popfly

You might have heard that Popfly has graduated from Alpha to public Beta. Congratulations, Popfly! This means that anyone can now join the fun mashing up and mashing out (sharing your mashups). If you're not sure what I'm talking about, see here and here.  And if you want details on the announcements surrounding Popfly's coming out party, see here.

A while back I mashed up some family pics that my brother and I have separately published on the Internet.  They both happen to come from Windows Live Spaces pages, but they could be coming from almost anywhere.   In the spirit of "work-life integration", I thought the Beta announcement made a good opportunity to put the mashout capabilities to the test.  Popfly gave me the "embed code" to paste below for this carousel.  I've also put it on my spaces page, as well as on my face book page.

What do you think?  Is this cool or what?

It' easy to get started with Popfly: click on the Popfly icon in the top right corner, select "mashout", and choose an option.  Here's pic from this page that shows you the options.

Or, just go to Popfly and login with your Windows Live ID (if you don't have a LiveID, you can signup for one as part of the Popfly login process).  In addition to creating and sharing mashups, once you login to Popfly you can also build your own free web page there (host your mashups if you like, and add other content, too).

BTW, there are some really compelling business scenarios latent in here.  That's for a future post!

Your Popfly broke. I hope this isn't a typical user experience :-) [Note: A few quick tests, and everything seems to be working fine as of 8:15pm EDT... if you would like to share more details about your experience I'll pass the on the Popfly product team!   -John ]

Ok - so I've been posting about Popfly a lot lately. Why am I so excited about Popfly? It's simple, actually.
