Jobs for people that want to build igloos
If you are reading this then you have probably seen our “igloo video”. Like I said in the video, we work in the Developer Division Engineering Excellence team. As a group we help build software like Visual Studio, the .NET framework, Asp.Net, etc. We help by improving the engineering practices, performance, processes, and our customer connection efforts.
Below are just a couple of the openings you’d find right now through the career site. I tried to find a few that are representative of the work our teams do. If you are interested in these or similar positions feel free to send your resume AND the position you are interested in to jledgard@microsoft.com.
Program Manager – Working on Customer Connection
We’re looking for an exceptional Program Manager to lead the development of feedback and transparency strategies across all of the DevDiv customer connection programs. DevDiv is pioneering the use of new technologies and communications channels to increase transparency with customers and to collect more actionable feedback from customers throughout the product cycle…
Software Development Engineer – Improving Engineering Capacity
We are looking to add a software design engineer who enjoys solving problems over a wide variety of domains, maybe domains where they have experience only as a user not as a developer. We have a wide variety of challenges and a successful candidate will enjoy this type of diversity. These challenges include, but are not limited to, releasing products to our customers quicker, build improvements (quicker, less resources, scalable, and shared resources), more efficient check-ins, conversion of manual processes, simplification of source tree structure, better leverage of DevDiv wide machine resources for testing, stress and performance work.
Test Architect – Driving Performance Improvements
DDE Performance team (DDPE) is a small and specialized team chartered with establishing Software Performance Engineering practices and setting and achieving performance vision, strategy and goals for the Division technologies. DDPE incubates and delivers performance features, reviews product architectures for optimal performance, assists on analyzing performance data, prototypes performance improvements, develops and delivers infrastructure and internal tools, produces prescriptive guidance and offers training.
DDPE is looking for a Test Architect who can lead and deliver high quality work within this context. Key responsibilities include designing, implementing, integrating and supporting the testing infrastructure needed to measure, track and investigate performance on a good range of feature specific, partner and end to end customer driven scenarios.
Like I said above, these are just a few of the positions that we have available in the Developer Division Engineering excellence world. There may be a great match for you somewhere.
