Project 2010 at WPC 2011

The Project Team is going to make a considerable splash at Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) 2011. Since last year’s launch of Project 2010, many of our partners preparing themselves to take advantage of the current growth in the marketplace and future evolution into the cloud.

Here is a quick snippet of what partners will enjoy at WPC 2011.

Project Booth

We will be located in the Business Productivity area within the Expo Hall. In addition to some of our training partners like MS Project Experts, the booth will also be staffed with Project Partners from around the globe. Nearby, in the BP Partner Theater – 5 Project partners will be making presentations throughout the week.

Project and Portfolio Management Partner of the Year Award

What an amazing response and a tough year for the judges! We received double the submissions that we received last year which was double from the year before. This is additional proof that the worldwide partner community is growing in size and depth - both business and technical experience –developing a wide range of solutions on the Microsoft SharePoint 2010 and Project 2010 stack.

The Winner and the two Finalists will be announced publicly soon - on June 23rd, 2011. The winner will be invited to a Luncheon of Monday, July 11th where they will dine with and take pictures with the Director of Project Arpan Shah.

Project & Portfolio Management Partner Recognition Breakfast

Floating twenty-four floors above the Los Angeles skyline is the WP24 by Wolfgang Puck at The Ritz-Carlton. While observing the spectacular panoramic views of the city, you will enjoy a dynamic breakfast buffet in the main dining room. It will be spectacular – more details will be sent to the PPM partner attendees registered for Worldwide Partner Conference 2011 shortly.

PPM Breakouts & Interactive Sessions

Tuesday will be a very exciting day as it also holds both the PPM Breakout and Interactive Sessions. The Breakout session will focus on bringing aboard SharePoint partners who are looking to add PPM to their solution-base by partnering with Project Partners. The Interactive session will target best practices in selling Project 2010. Top industry experts and new case studies will also join the mix. These sessions are not being recorded:

3:00-4:00PM: ROOM: LACC 405 - SharePoint Partners - Grow Your Business with Microsoft Project 2010

4:30-5:30PM: ROOM: LACC 511A - Project: Best Practices selling Project 2010 Platform

MOD Evening Event

True, there are a number of networking events and parties throughout the week, but we helped sponsor this one. This is an opportunity for us to meet with other partners and promote your solutions and services.

PPM Competency support

Kevin Custer will be available to walk you through the MPN booth and answer any questions you have about the new PPM competencies, the current transition period, and what happens after the Project 2007 exams are retired in October 2011. You can request his time with the Connect tool after you are registered for WPC.

AND . . .

Of course, this is just an at-a-glance view, but you should note that we have an improved presence in the Customer Immersion Experience going on all week . . . among a few other surprises surrounding awareness, compete, onboarding with your local subsidiary and tighter integration with Dynamics and SharePoint partners.

Stay tuned right here on the Project Partner blog!
