Speaking This Thursday in Vancouver
Tomorrow I'll be reposting the last of Why the UI: Special Edition and on Wednesday I'll be back with original content. Sorry for those of you who have read the series before--my other option was to go dark for a couple of weeks and I thought this was a better way to go.
Anyway, I wanted to let you know that this Thursday, April 13 at 5:30pm, I'll be in Vancouver speaking as a guest of VanUE, the Vancouver User Experience Group.
My talk is entitled Beyond Menus and Toolbars in Microsoft Office and it is an updated version of the talk I gave in Palo Alto last December at BayCHI.
I'll be sharing details of the behind-the-scenes processes and thinking we used to design and develop the Office 2007 user interface. And, I'll be showing demos from an up-to-date (near-Beta 2) build of Office 2007.
There will be lots of time for questions and answers, so this would be a good opportunity to come see demos of how the UI works, learn the thinking behind it, and ask those burning questions you've been wanting to ask.
If you're in the Vancouver area (or even Seattle) and you're interested in user interfaces or the future of Office, I encourage you to come check it out.
Admission is free, however if you are planning to come you must RSVP by clicking on the RSVP link at the bottom of the VanUE home page.
I hope to meet many of you in person!
