IT Camps On-Demand – Windows Server 2012: Continuously Available File Shares
We are continuing with our IT Camps in the US that focuses on Windows Server 2012. As I’ve pointed out in the past, we worked hard to hit as many cities as possible, but we know it’s not possible to get to every city in the US. With that in mind, I worked with our marketing team to record the sessions that we will be delivering at the IT Camps and make them available On-Demand. My team mate, John Weston and I took a day at Microsoft Studios and recorded all the content – PowerPoint delivery and demos that will be delivered at the US IT Camps. Feel free to visit the IT Camps On-Demand Series Landing Page for all the videos. This is the third of four videos in the third set in this series.
This session focuses on Windows Server 2012 Continuously Available File Shares.
Abstract Windows Server 2012: Continuously Available File Shares:
One of the most common uses of Windows Servers is for File and Print Services. Windows Server 2012 has huge improvements in the Storage capabilities as well. In the previous session, we discussed Storage Spaces, thin provisioning and data de-duplication. In this session, we will focus on how to make highly available file shares that can also be used for Hyper-V shared storage.
