Kicking and screaming

I have some friends of mine that run an on-again, off again blog site called ShiftyEye. The engine is a home grown ASP (!) app written by my colleague D. Clay Smith and contributed to by Clay and my bud Harris (who's leaving Atlanta and moving to New York, but I digress).

These guys were keeping a blog before most of us even knew what one was. But try as I might over the last few years I couldn't convince them they needed an RSS feed so I at least could know what they were writing about.

Finally I couldn't stand it anymore. So yesterday I got the database schema from Clay and cranked out a rudimentary "rss.asp" page for them. In the process I had the opportunity to figure out RSS in depth (with help from Michael Earls), and true to its name, it is Really Simple.

Check out their feed at https://shiftyeye.com/rss.asp. And thanks for letting me drag you kicking and screaming out of the 90s, ShiftyEye. Now, let's talk about this thing called an ASPX page...
