Windows Mobile Device Emulator 1.0 mit AKU2/MSFP-Image verfügbar

Oft wurde ich per Mail und über mein Blog gefragt, woher man denn den Windows Mobile 5.0 Device Emulator, den ich in meinen Mobility-Videos immer verwende, bekommen kann. Vor allem das Image mit integriertem Messaging and Security Feature Pack (MSFP) - oft auch mit dem internen Codenamen AKU2 bezeichnet - wurde besonders häufig nachgefragt.

Bisher war die Antwort immer: Es gibt zwar eine CTP-Version vom Device Emulator - allerdings ohne AKU2/MSFP-Image. Das hat sich am 17. Mai 2006 geändert. Seitdem gibt es jetzt endlich den Microsoft Device Emulator in der Version 1.0 RTM mit einem Windows Mobile 5.0 AKU2/MSFP-Image für alle frei zum Herunterladen.

    Hallo

    Ich habe den Emulator installiert, kann aber nichts damit machen. Images sollten doch dabei sein, oder?
    Ich kann sie auf jeden Fall nicht öffnen. Gibt es eine Anleitung wie da vorzugehen ist?

    In meinen Vorführungen benutzte ich einen speziellen Emulator, der extra intern gebaut wurde, um Direct Push zeigen zu können, da keine externen Geräte mit MSFP in Deutschland zu dem Zeitpunkt verfügbar waren. Direct Push geht generell nur über den Radiostack (also eine GPRS- oder UMTS-Verbindung), da Netzwerkverbindungen wie WLAN keine Energiesparfunktionen bieten und den Akku in kürzester Zeit ansonsten leeren.

    Note: This release contains the Standalone Device Emulator as well as the following Windows Mobile OS Images
    Windows Mobile 5.0 with Messaging and Security Feature Pack (MSFP)

    First, download the ZIP file for the emulator. Unzip it and double-click on the vs_emulator.exe, which is the installer for the Device Emulator that will guide you through the installation process. Then, install the Windows Mobile 5.0 MSFP OS image. The installation will create shortcuts on your start menu from where you can launch the various configurations of the Windows Mobile 5.0 MSFP. You will also see a shortcut for the DeviceEmulatorManager using which you can launch any of the installed images.

    If you didn't change the install path during installation, you will see the Device Emulator installed under: C:Program FilesMicrosoft Device Emulator1.0

    Note: The installation for Windows Mobile 5.0 MSFP depends on the Virtual Machine Network Driver (VMNet) being present on your machine, before it installs.

    Gibt es eine Möglichkeit, mit diesem Emulator AUTD über eine Ethernet-Verbindung ohne Support-Code 0x85020013 zu konfigurieren?

    Es gibt jetzt eine Aktualisierung des Emulators, der damit auch Direct Push simulieren kann:
