Get pi/2% off at Amazon if you use a9.com
If you register yourself with Amazon's https://a9.com search engine, you'll start getting π/2% (1.57%) off your purchases. I mentioned a9 when it went beta and now it's been released. It's got some cool features on top of google, although I have to admit I haven't been using it much.

Where do you do this at? I don't see any "registration" link or related info. And it already knows who I am anyhow, apparently using an Amazon cookie or something. So if they already know me and everyone else from Amazon, how do I "register" and get the discount? - Anonymous

I get a banner on Amazon.com that mentions pi/2 and if you hover over it, it has a link that opens a page that explains that you get pi/2 off if you use a9.com (and a9.com knows who you are). - Anonymous

Maybe you get that banner as a former beta tester, Dan. Or maybe only in IE6 Windows, or something else. I see no such banner on amazon.com in Safari on Mac. Like Paul Wilson, amazon knows me already. I suppose I could delete my Safari cache to see what happens, but it looks as if you've got some special cookie producing the pi/2 banner and link. - Anonymous

It's not whether or not Amazon knows who you are, but whether or not a9 knows who you are. If a9 knows who you are but you aren't getting the discount, then I have no idea what's going on... Am I the only lucky one? - Anonymous

Being signed into Amazon.com and then searching A9.com is the method that I used to get the 1.57% discount.
From the help link:
-------------------
Anthony K. Valley, since you've been using A9.com recently, virtually everything at Amazon.com is automatically an additional π/2% (1.57%) off for you. Collecting this discount is zero effort on your part. It will be applied automatically at checkout (it will happen whether you use the shopping cart or our 1-Click Shopping®). You don't need to do anything to get this discount except keep using A9.com as your regular search engine.
We don't advertise this additional discount that we give in exchange for using A9.com, so if you want your friends to know about it, please tell them. It is probably the only way they'll find out. All they have to do is use A9.com as their regular search engine. They should make sure they are signed in to A9.com (it should be recognizing them by name) so that we can be certain they get credit for their visit.

Searching A9.com for what? Searching for pi/2 or pi doesn't do it. - Anonymous
