SQL Server 2008 November CTP is here!
SQL Server 2008 November CTP is here: https://connect.microsoft.com/sqlserver. A lot of cool features come online with this release. Maybe the most exciting for developers and DBAs alike with be the return of intellisense to SSMS! Other exciting features for developers include Filestream support and Geospatial support. You can see videos about all the new features at https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/content/content.aspx?ContentID=5470.
Of course, we have samples updated for this CTP too. Check out our SQL Server Community samples portal page https://CodePlex.com/SqlServerSamples. Updated release notes for these samples are located at https://www.codeplex.com/SqlServerSamples/Wiki/View.aspx?title=SQLServerDatabasesandSamplesOverview&referringTitle=Home.
In the release notes you'll see the details on our two new Katmai samples (LookupTransformation for SQL Server Integration Services, and ConversationPriority for SQL Server Broker). We also have a new community project for End-To-End samples (https://www.codeplex.com/SQLSrvE2E) which includes a Filestream sample. You can find all the sample projects on our portal page.
If you are having trouble installing a sample database, specify the name of your machine instead of using the default server (local) in the installation dialog for the installer.
Thanks for trying out the November CTP!
