Troubleshoot the VPN connection
Updated: March 27, 2009
Applies To: Windows SBS 2008
Problem. I receive an error message that says, “The account does not have the permission to dial in,” when I try to use a VPN connection to connect to my Windows SBS 2008 network.
Cause. Your user account does not have the appropriate permissions to use a VPN connection to connect to the network.
Solution. Ask your network administrator for permissions to access the network by using a VPN connection. For instructions about how to grant VPN permissions, see ”Change virtual private network permissions for a user account” at the Microsoft Web site (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=144432).
