Manage Security by using Windows SBS Console

Windows SBS 2008 includes the status of security components. In Windows SBS Console, the Security tab allows you to manage the following components:
Virus protection for file system Helps protect your client computers from malicious software such as viruses, worms, and Trojan horses.
Spyware and other malware protection Helps protect your client computers from harmful software.
Client computer firewall Helps prevent malicious users and software from accessing a computer.
Spam protection for e-mail Helps prevent spam e-mail from reaching your network users.
Virus protection for e-mail Helps prevent malicious e-mail from being sent to your network users.
Server firewall Helps protect the server from network intrusions.
A detailed status is displayed in the details pane when a security component is selected. The following table lists the security administrative tasks that are available in Windows SBS Console and their descriptions.

View summary of virus protection for file system |
Opens the Antivirus Report page, which provides a summary of the antivirus software that is installed on the computers in the network. |
View summary of spyware and malware protection |
Opens the Antispyware Report page, which provides a summary of the antispyware that is installed on the computers in the network. |
View server firewall properties |
Opens the Firewall Settings page, which allows you to open additional ports in the server firewall. |
Refresh this view |
Refreshes the Security tab information. |
