Hyper-V: Use RAM that provides error correction

An update is available for Hyper-V Best Practices Analyzer (BPA) for Windows Server 2008 R2 and Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 R2. The update is appropriate for servers that run Hyper-V in Windows Server 2008 R2 with Service Pack 1 (SP1) and that have the Hyper-V BPA installed. The update includes addresses issues between the Hyper-V BPA and new features that were introduced in SP1. This update also fixes several other issues in BPA. Issue
The RAM in use on this computer is not error-correcting (ECC) RAM.
Impact
Microsoft does not support Windows Server 2008 R2 on computers without error correcting RAM.
Resolution
Verify the server is listed in the Windows Server catalog and qualified for Hyper-V.
To verify the server is listed and qualified for Hyper-V, see the Windows Server catalog (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=111228), and then search for “Hyper-V” as an additional qualification. If this computer is not qualified for Hyper-V and you want to replace it with a computer that is qualified for Hyper-V, you have two options for reestablishing the current virtualization environment on the new computer. You can:
Use migration documentation and tools for Windows Server 2008 R2 to migrate Hyper-V and the virtual machines to the new computer. For more information, see the Hyper-V Migration Guide (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=179215).
Use Hyper-V Manager to export the virtual machines from the current computer, install the Hyper-V role on the new computer, and then use Hyper-V Manager on the new computer to import the virtual machines.
