Secure Network Connections

This section documents procedures to secure the data you transmit from your computer to the other computers and networks to which you are connected.

Whenever you connect your computer to another computer or to a network, you risk exposing your computer to several threats. Some of the common threats, such as malware (viruses, spyware or other malicious software) are addressed by using antivirus and anti-spyware programs.

In addition, the data you send and receive over the network can potentially be intercepted and examined. To protect the confidentiality of your data, you can configure identity authentication and data encryption for the traffic and data of your network sessions.
