Determine the Device Setup Class for Your Device
Applies To: Windows Server 2008
You can use this procedure to determine the device setup class GUID for a device.
Membership in the local Administrators group, or equivalent, is the minimum required to complete this procedure.
To determine the device setup class GUID for a device by using Device Manager
Install the device on a test computer.
Find your device in the list. It is categorized based on the type of device it is.
Right-click the entry for your device, and then click Properties.
In the Device Properties dialog box, click the Details tab.
In the Property list, click Device Class GUID.
Under Value, make note of the value displayed. You can select the item in the list, and then press CTRL+C to copy them to the clipboard.
Additional considerations
Ensure that you include the curly brace characters { } when you copy and paste the value into your policies. The braces are required.
