  • You cannot repeat the installation of a CAL by using the Web Browser installation method.

  • You might need to reinstall Terminal Server CALs in situations such as the following:

    • A catastrophic failure or any other event that causes the loss of or corruption to the licensing database, when a known good backup is not available. In this case, you must reinstall Terminal Server Licensing, reactivate the license server, and then reinstall the previously issued CALs.

    • If you upgrade or migrate a Windows 2000 license server to Windows Server 2003. In this case, you must reinstall the Windows 2000 Terminal Server CALs on the Windows Server 2003 license server.

In each of these cases, you must call the Microsoft Clearinghouse to reinstall the appropriate CALs. For information about how to call the Clearinghouse, see Locate the Microsoft Clearinghouse telephone number for your country or region.
