Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2
To turn off automatic updating of trusted root authority certificates
Open Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel.
Click Add/Remove Windows Components.
Clear the Update Root Certificates check box.
Click Next, and then click Finish.

- To open Add/Remove Windows Components, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove programs, and then click Add/Remove Windows Components.
