Run WMIC in interactive mode

Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2

To run WMIC in interactive mode

  1. Click Start, Run.

  2. Type:

    WMIC, and then press ENTER.

  3. Type the alias, command, or global switch you want WMIC to perform.

Notes

  • To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Administrators group on the local computer, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. If the computer is joined to a domain, members of the Domain Admins group might be able to perform this procedure.

  • When you finish using WMIC in interactive mode, you can use the Exit or Quit command to exit WMIC.

  • For more information about the WMIC commands, type /? at the command prompt.
