SSL/TLS authentication
For conceptual information about certificates and Transport Layer Security (TLS)/Secure Socket Layer (SSL) connections and authentication, see Certificates Technical Reference and TLS/SSL Technical Reference in the Windows Server 2003 Technical Reference.
With Secure Socket Layer/Transport Layer Security (TLS/SSL), you have the ability to control what ciphers or cryptographic algorithms are allowed. By default, all ciphers can be used; however, you can control what ciphers your computer can use. For more information, see article Q216482, "How to Control the Ciphers for SSL and TLS," in the Microsoft Knowledge Base (https://www.microsoft.com/).
For instructions on how to map certificates to user accounts in Internet Information Services (IIS), see "Mapping Client Certificates to User Accounts" in the Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0 documentation.
Note
- You must have IIS installed to have access to the documentation.
