Configure an ASBR
Applies To: Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 R2, Windows Server 2003 with SP1, Windows Server 2003 with SP2
To configure an ASBR
Open Routing and Remote Access.
In the console tree, click OSPF.
Where?
- Routing and Remote Access/server name/IP Routing/OSPF
Right-click OSPF, and then click Properties.
On the General tab, click Enable autonomous system boundary router.
To configure external route sources, do the following:
On the External Routing tab, click either Accept routes from all route sources except those selected or Ignore routes from all route sources except those selected.
Select or clear the appropriate check boxes next to the route sources.
To configure external route filters, do the following:
On the External Routing tab, click Route Filters.
In Destination and in Network mask, type the route you want to filter, and then click Add.
Repeat the preceding step for all the routes you want to filter.
Click either Ignore listed routes or Accept listed routes depending on the appropriate filtering action, and then click OK.
Notes
To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the Administrators group. As a security best practice, consider using the Run As command rather than logging on with administrative credentials. If you have logged on with administrative credentials, you can also open Routing and Remote Access by clicking Start, clicking Control Panel, double-clicking Administrative Tools, and then double-clicking Routing and Remote Access. This feature is not available on the Itanium-based versions of the Windows operating systems.
