Init Key (Compact 2013)
3/26/2014
The HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\CompanyX-GenericModem-1234\Unimodem\Init key contains an enumerated sequence of strings that are used to initialize the modem. You can enter up to five strings under the Init key. Unimodem goes through each individual string that is entered under the Init key, sends the string to the modem, and then waits for an OK response before continuing to the next string.
Each string entry under the Init key contains the sequence number of the string, starting with the number 1, and the command that is sent to the modem. For example, the entry for Init string 1 usually is AT<cr>, which is used to start the modem. The Init key string 2 usually contains &F or a similar command to restore the modem to its default settings. Subsequent Init key entries can contain miscellaneous commands to configure the modem to maintain compatibility with Windows Embedded Compact.
