Modifying Emulation Settings for an SDK (Windows CE 5.0)

To include support for the Emulator in an SDK, you must include the board support package (BSP) for the Emulator in your OS design.

To support the Emulator in an SDK, you must have built a run-time image for the Emulator. For more information, see Building a Run-Time Image.

To modify emulation settings for an SDK

  1. From the Platform menu, choose SDK and then choose Configure SDK.

    The SDK Settings dialog box appears.

  2. Choose the Emulation tab.

    For information, see Emulation Tab.

  3. In the Configuration box, choose a configuration for the Emulator in the SDK.

    For information about the configurations that Platform Builder provides by default with an OS design, see Levels of Debugging Support.

  4. If you want to allow an application developer to map a port from the Emulator to an Ethernet card on the application developer's workstation, select the Ethernet support check box.

  5. If you want to allow an application developer to map ports from the Emulator to physical ports on the application developer's workstation, select the Ports available to be configured check box.

  6. In the Memory (MB) box, type or select the amount of memory you want to allocate to the Emulator on the application developer's workstation.

  7. If you do not want to use an Emulator skin with the Emulator, choose Fixed screen resolution, and then specify a width, height, and color depth for the Emulator window.

    Choose Emulator skins, choose Add, select a directory containing the Extensible Markup Language (.xml) file for the Emulator skin, and then choose OK.

  8. Choose OK to close the SDK Settings dialog box and save your changes.
