IAdminIndexServer::GetLongProperty method
[Indexing Service is no longer supported as of Windows XP and is unavailable for use as of Windows 8. Instead, use Windows Search for client side search and Microsoft Search Server Express for server side search.]
Retrieves a content index registry value of type REG_DWORD, as described in Registry Entries.
Syntax
HRESULT GetLongProperty(
[in] BSTR bstrPropName,
[out, retval] LONG *plVal
);
Parameters
-
bstrPropName [in]
-
The name of an existing Indexing Service registry value.
-
plVal [out, retval]
-
The retrieved property value.
Return value
If this method succeeds, it returns S_OK. Otherwise, it returns an HRESULT error code.
Remarks
The registry value name must already exist for the Indexing Service entry. Attempting to retrieve the value of a nonexistent property results in the creation of an error object with the Number property set to E_FAIL.
