Calculate Plan - Req. Wksh. Batch Job
Calculates a supply plan for items and stockkeeping units that have the Replenishment System field set to Purchase or Transfer.
Note
To calculate supply plans for items that are replenished by production or assembly, you can use the Planning Worksheet window.
The Calculate Plan batch job performs the following steps:
Investigates the demand and supply situation of the item and calculates the projected available balance. The balance is defined as follows:
Inventory + Scheduled Receipts + Planned Receipts –Gross Requirement
States net requirements for the item.
Creates an item replenishment plan to fulfill net requirements. The plan is presented in the requisition worksheet as detailed order proposal lines that are accompanied by action messages that suggest specific user actions. The action message options are:
Action message | Description |
---|---|
New |
Creates new supply orders. |
Change Qty. |
Change quantity on existing supply orders |
Reschedule |
Reschedules existing supply orders. |
Resched. & Chg. |
Reschedules existing supply orders and changes the quantity of existing supply orders. |
Cancel |
Cancels excess supply orders. |
You can accept the action message on the requisition line and process it further. If you do not want to accept it, then you can also manually change or delete lines in the requisition worksheet.
When you have approved a requisition line for purchase or transfer, you use the Carry Out Action Msg. - Req. batch job to convert the line to a purchase order or transfer order line.
Options
Starting Date: Specifies the date to use for new orders. This date is used to evaluate the inventory.
Ending Date: Specifies the date where the planning period ends. Demand is not included beyond this date.
Use Forecast: Specifies a forecast that should be included as demand when running the planning batch job.
Respect Planning Parameters for Supply Triggered by Safety Stock (By default, this field is not selected.):
Supply suggestions triggered by a value in the Safety Stock Quantity field are normally not modified according to planning parameters. Instead, the planning system only suggests a supply to cover the exact demand quantity. However, for the requisition worksheet, you can specify in the Calculate Plan - Req. Wksh. window that certain planning parameters are respected even for planning lines triggered by safety stock.
When the Respect Planning Parameters for Supply Triggered by Safety Stock check box is selected, planning lines triggered by safety stock respect the following planning parameters on the item or SKU card:
Parameter type | Reordering policy | Parameter |
---|---|---|
Reorder-Point Parameters |
Fixed Reorder Qty. |
Reorder Point |
Reorder Quantity |
||
Maximum Qty. |
Reorder Point |
|
Maximum Inventory |
In addition, the following order modifiers are respected:
Minimum Order Quantity
Maximum Order Quantity
Order Multiple
