Installer version 2.51.231.24333 - Microsoft Store version 11.2412.232.0 - NET8 Store version 11.2412.234.0 updates
New Features
A new flow property has now been introduced in preview, allowing you to repair flow errors that are related to missing UI element selectors, when the flow is invoked from the cloud in attended or unattended mode.
Repairing can take place either with a Copilot suggested fix that needs reviewing before approving it, or with a manual repair during the flow run. The property is enabled by default, when you create a new desktop flow.
This functionality is currently only available in US-based environments for work or school accounts.Dark mode is now available for Power Automate for desktop in preview and can be enabled through the corresponding option in the settings of the console.
Enhancements & Improvements
In cloud connector actions, creating a new connection that requires showing a web view to accept terms of use is now supported.
The runtime performance of calling the same child desktop flows multiple times from another flow has now been improved, decreasing the corresponding loading time.
Certain improvements have taken place when using ‘Record with Copilot’:
- Latency has been reduced to improve performance when the recorder is launched.
- Enhancements and revisions were implemented to include the addition of mouse scroll events, integration of keyboard modifier keys during scrolling, and significant refactoring to improve the handling and logging of mouse interaction events.
- A static, sticky message has been added to the top of the recording window, to remind users to describe what they ‘re doing on screen.
- If no audio is captured, a relevant indication now comes up on the recording window, so that users can make a change or start over.
- The buttons in the console’s home page have been updated, to choose between launching the recorder or watching a demo.
A banner message now appears in the console, prompting users to migrate their desktop flows in schema v2, as schema v1 will be deprecated soon. The affected flows are also indicated in the Status column with an info icon, which brings up a tooltip with the same message.
In an environment where unmanaged customizations are blocked, the option to create a new flow is now disabled. Furthermore, existing flows can be opened to allow debugging but can’t be saved, renamed or have their properties changed.
A new registry entry is now available for the Installer version, which prevents users from manually configuring Power Automate for desktop to start automatically, when they log in.
A soft character limit has now been introduced for Copilot chat boxes, allowing users to type more than 500 characters but displaying a warning and disabling the Submit button if that limit is exceeded.
The action ‘Upload folder(s) to FTP’ now comes with a folder picker icon in the corresponding parameter, as expected.
The status of a Work Queue Item is now updated on an IT exception, and a flag has been included to indicate local retries.
The Power Platform Admin Center’s setting ‘Activation status of run action logs’ is now properly supported, enabling or disabling the upload of action logs respectively. This setting affects both V1 and V2 action logs versions.
When a flow runs in Picture-in-Picture mode, it can now pass the authentication (credentials/PIN) step.
A design-time control validation for actions has now been introduced, ensuring that only valid UI elements are captured based on the action context. Furthermore, the element dropdown of the action now filters the available UI elements to display only the eligible ones.
Supporting cross-domain iframe elements in Internet Explorer mode of the Edge browser has been further enhanced, supporting the extraction of hand-picked values.
