2.1.1.7 AppleTalk (NCACN_AT_DSP)

This protocol sequence specifies RPC directly over AppleTalk. There are no intermediate protocols between RPC and AppleTalk. This protocol sequence MAY<15> be supported.

RPC over AppleTalk MUST use a well-known endpoint. The endpoint MUST be an AppleTalk Data Stream Protocol (ADSP) socket number, as specified in [AT] section 12. When extensions that are not specified in sections 2.1.1 through 2.1.2 are enabled over ADSP as specified in [AT], the network address MUST be an AppleTalk name or in the format machinename@zonename. If no zone is provided, the protocol MUST default to the client's zone. The network address and endpoint are not transmitted on the network by these extensions but are used by lower-layer protocols to set up the connection.
