SharePoint as a Development Platform in Federal Government
The SharePoint Products & Technologies platform has become a compelling platform for the delivery of innovative, public-facing internet websites for a variety of public sector organizations. Some of the more notable advances in this area with respect to Public Sector have been the direct result of the launches of innovative public-facing government websites like www.recovery.gov and www.treasury.gov which has set the stage for SharePoint Technologies as a mainstream platform for the delivery of internet web presences organizations while directly supporting the initiatives around open government. Both sites represent highly-scalable and visually appealing SharePoint-based websites that take advantage of industry cloud computing platforms to provide a superior user experience for the American public.
Join us for a day of exploring SharePoint-as-a-Development-Platform. First we will examine some real world Federal SharePoint development projects looking at both business and technical details. From there, will take a developers tour into the SharePoint Development Platform and demonstrate how you can quickly build custom SharePoint applications leveraging the project templates, designers, and packaging tools within Visual Studio 2010. Finally, we will explore how to streamline your SharePoint development projects with the use of Team Foundation Server (TFS) for all of your Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) activities.
